This is as much a testament to the absurdity of people discarding things they no longer need into inappropriate places as it is an example of what'll eventually happen to all the things that people make. Eventually, it will erode away and crumple into what it's made of, and be put to a new use.

Of course, I'm making use of it right now; the shopping cart would've ruined the picture if all it was was a nature picture. However, that's not all it is. It's documentation.

Luckily I don't think anything it's made of can be considered a pollutant to the area.

If you ask me why I didn't pull it out... I didn't have the means (clean clothes, and while it may not look that far from shore, it was too deep to wade). However, I'm going to see about having it removed sometime soon, maybe on a return trip.

I wasn't really out to make a statement or anything, though. Even if you don't like pictures of garbage, it's still a pretty nice picture without it.
